- Sweet Peaks Ice Cream – Specialty flavors vary but Bear Scat Ice cream (chocolate with blueberries and… another berry?) is a must try if available, not just for the name!
Spearfish, SD
- Leone’s Creamery – Right on main street, this creamery has rotating flavors. We enjoyed the Blueberry Goat’s Cheese when we visited

- Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams- While Jeni’s is a larger chain now, I feel fortunate to say that I tried them first at their flagship location in the North Market in Columbus, OH. They had a seasonal Poached Pear Sorbet that I still think about! If that’s not available, their Salted Peanut Butter with Chocolate Flecks is excellent as well.
